When does Life Begin?

At the moment of conception the human soul is created and united with the physical body.  It will remain in that state as the engine of the body until death. The soul is far more powerful than the body and should be depended on at all times to overcome life's struggles. the soul is Gods greatest gift to mankind. It differentiates him from the animal and mineral kingdoms. When the physical body is ill the soul is not affected. At the moment of death the soul separates from the body and returns to the spiritual world.

Any evidence for any of this being true?

Yes! Consider your dreams. In a dream you are present at a certain location, everything around you is vivid. Years later you are at that location and you recall your dream. It is evident that something connected to you made the journey on its own without the physical connection.
Secondly people have been known to leave this world and come back during near death experiences. They describe a place where they are surrounded by people who have passed on that they knew. The body was basically non-functional during this period of time yet the soul was free to travel on it's own and for whatever reason returned to the physical realm. Thus the soul is independent of the body and immune to events affecting the body.

I have received you response to my comment. If you wish to make petty counter attacks may I suggest you join the financial bloggers. If on other hand you would step outside the self briefly and observe with an open mind what could conceivably be the truth. I would be pleased to engage in a friendly dialog. your choice.

I am observing with an open mind. An open mind does not simply mean 'believe everything'. It means to be open to all possibilities and asking for well reasoned and sensible arguments.

Excellent! When discussing spiritual matters it is essential to quote from the manifestations of God. This is because matters of the spirit are veiled from mankind by the creator. There remains only traces of evidence that follow the dead end that science always arrives at when searching for the source of life. To me this confirms the agreement of science and religion. One helps to explain the other, to complete the puzzle. There are no contradictions. This is true of the human soul. Science cannot completly describe the mystery of life without the essential bridge to religion. There is a book written by Abdu'l Baha (son of Baha'u'llah)called "Some Answered Questions". In the book are many references to the soul. In reading the following description of the soul it may help to know of its existence.

We have already explained that the spirit of man is not in the body because it is freed and sanctified from entrance and exit, which are bodily conditions. The connection of the spirit with the body is like that of the sun with the mirror. Briefly, the human spirit is in one condition. It neither becomes ill from the diseases of the body nor cured by its health; it does not become sick, nor weak, nor miserable, nor poor, nor light, nor small -- that is to say, it will not be injured because of the infirmities of the body, and no effect will be visible even if the body becomes weak, or if the hands and feet and tongue be cut off, or if it loses the power of hearing or sight. Therefore, it is evident and certain that the spirit is different from the body, and that its duration is independent of that of the body; on the contrary, the spirit with the utmost greatness rules in the world of the body; and its power and influence, like the bounty of the sun in the mirror, are apparent and visible. But when the mirror becomes dusty or breaks, it will cease to reflect the rays of the sun

A key thing to know, we have already existed before our life here. Jeremiah 1:5 5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
